En la historia del arte, hay puntualmente artistas que escapan de convencionalismos establecidos y su obra como es en mi caso, crea una debilidad interior ante tal manifestación de poder creativo que me hace plantear mi más sincera insignificancia creadora. Luego vuelvo al trabajo porque realmente disfruto con mi humilde parcela creativa pensando que sólo unos pocos como Helnwein están tocados con la varita mágica de la excelencia. Sobrecoge tanto talento técnico y estético. ¿Para cuando podremos disfrutar de una exposición suya en España?

I was first introduced to you by my A level art teacher for enhancing my own portraiture. I was completely mesmerised by your work, the level of hyperrealism is amazing and seems so effortless. The true realistic nature of your work is so captivating. I was fortunate enough to see your installation of the last child in Waterford when I went to Ireland over the summer, seeing this only further cemented my appreciation of your work. The raw emotion and stark truths your pieces present really captivate me. In my own portraiture I’ve been striving to achieve the superior level of hyperrealism, I’ve focused on first achieving photorealism in my portraiture but seem to lack the next step. Could you give me any suggestions for achieving the texture and life that your paintings seem to effortlessly embody?

One of the greats! Just thinking... Wouldn't a little hunger and desperation add romance to the already enigmatic? Helnwein's work's stayed fresh for me whenever I've returned to it over the years, and always a real pleasure to take in.

I was reading about this new video game called Epic Mickey, the blog article author said the broken looking animatronic Donald Duck creeped him out. Then I thought, "Hey, Gottfried Helwein likes creepy Disney characters!"
The game is planned to be released on the Nintendo Wii, so if you don't already own one, I'd suggest trying to buy one before this game is released.

В детстве у нас дома лежала большая толстая книга с его работами.
Просто подарок какой-то.Я открыла первую страницу года в 4...
Впечатлений мне хватило на всю жизнь.
Только сейчас стало интересно.
я очень испугалась тогда работы "Peinlich (Embarrassing)
1971".
Сейчас же просмотрев этот сайт я поняла,что на самом деле это гениальный человек.И с этим трудно поспорить.
Безусловное многое ужасает,но вместе с тем и восхищает.
Очень хочется увидеть выставку его картин и в нашем городе.
Премного ему благодарна за труд.

I am familiar with your work, though it wasn't known to me until just now. I most remember the album cover of "Sehnsucht", and the use of "Lichtkind" and "Das Lied" in Michael Jackson's (R.I.P.) album HIStory. But what has moved me to write you is something altogether different. There are a couple of works you've done where the images seem to have lept from my mind into realization on your canvas. The model for "Murmur Of The Innocents" #'s 10 and 12 bears a striking resemblance to that of my deceased sister ( she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in 2004 ), and are eerily similar to visions I've had closely following her tragic death. # 10 is a more peaceful pose, but # 12 is more in keeping with the nightmarish visions I've had in the past. Even though I find both of these haunting, I also have a feeling of inner peace. I am deeply moved, sir. I do not have the words to fully express my emotions. Please keep making these exquisite masterpieces, and while not all of them may bring "joy", they will most certainly evoke the raw, visceral reactions they are intended to. Making people FEEL again...perhaps this is a joy in and of itself...

Still in Helnwein passion.
Dernier né d'une dynastie que l'on croyais éteinte a jamais, Helnwein a su raviver la flamme dans l'oeil d'un spectateur qui vit les yeux fermés devant une surréalité presque opressante.
Helnwein est incontestablement le maître observteur de tous.
Un art au caractère expressif d'une société rendue inexpressive.

There is no doubt in my mind that when the dust settles, very very few will be standing
and among them Gottfried Helnwein. Though many still interpret "Epiphany I: Adoration of the Magi" only in the light of its holocaust references, its piercing strength goes far far beyond that, it strikes at the heart of the inescapable contradictions of what it is to be human, as so much of your work is able to do.
Whether or not this is truly your Art Review page I thank you, I have only discovered your work recently but in my own continuing struggles, you light the way.
