Gottfried Helnwein is incredible. His images are so disturbing, especially with his repeated use of imagery of innocence in perverse situations like wounded children or Donald Duck in dark alleys. Harry Parker III, the Director of Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco says that

Em Abril não fui para a Escócia como planeado mas vamos agora em Junho se tudo correr bem. Ao invés, ficamos por Portugal e fomos andar sem rumo pelo Alentejo, terra mãe e seca de grande inspiração. I can now reliably inform you that this is the Virtual Museum of Art, dedicated to the work of Austrian-born artist, Gottfried Helnwein. Those of you into certain forms of metal music may already be familiar with his unsettling images, as his output includes covers and artwork for both Rammstein and Marilyn Manson. He now has an island on which to showcase his work in Second Life. The Museum dominates the island on which it stands, rising to 3 storeys, and stretching across the full width of the sim. Inside it is dark and cool, and the display is large and well constructed. There are several galleries, featuring different phases of Helwein's work. Gottfried Helnwein nutzt damit eine Möglichkeit dieser Online-Welt, die es im echten Leben nicht gibt: Die Ausstellung seines gesamten Lebenswerks in einem einzigen Museum. Seine in mehr als 35 Jahren geschaffenen Arbeiten sind in vielen Museen und bedeutenden privaten Sammlungen in der ganzen Welt verstreut.
Es wäre kaum möglich, sie in einem realen Museum für eine einzige Präsentation zusammenzubringen.
Die Ausstellungsfläche des virtuellen Museums beträgt mehr als 80.000 qm. Das Museum und das Ausstellungskonzept sind von Gottfried Helnwein mitgestaltet worden. Technische Meisterschaft und auch die Konsequenz einer packenden sozialkritischen Thematik offenbaren sich in dieser Ausstellung: Gewalt, Schmerz, Verletzung werden dargestellt. Den Körper ebenso wie die Psyche betreffend. Helnwein dokumentiert hier in Linz einen künstlerischen Reifegrad, der eine weitere Steigerung kaum vorstellbar macht. The exhibition was conceived exclusively for the Caricature Museum Krems by Gottfried Helnwein. This is the first time that Bark’s body of work is presented in Austria.
Barks, who is one of the most eminent American artists of the 20th century, was a leading cartoonist of Walt Disney. He made Donald Duck a highly popular character and created duckdom with his unique style and original stories. He is considered the inventor of Uncle Scrooge, the Beagle Boys, Gladstone Gander and Gyro Gearloose and other inhabitants of duckdom. His creative work had a lasting influence on artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Crumb and Manfred Deix. Film directors such as Steven Spielberg and George Lucas also expressed their admiration for Barks.
